What a surprise that the Stones of the title truly refers to Jacob Stone and his estranged father (Jeff Fahey) who turns up here. The "lies" in the title refers to a shapeshifter who feeds on lies for its power. The Librarians discover that the only way to defeat the shapeshifter is to keep on telling the truth but not just any truth but ones that has an emotional weight to them. I definitely share Ezekiel's incredulous in the literal meaning that the truth will set them free when they were trapped underground. In order to keep the door open the truth had to be consistently told which has Cassandra spout out a lot of truths about her life and definitely share Ezekiel's relief when Jacob finally came back with the shapeshifter which was in his form. Jacob sure knew that he wasn't talking to his father when the shapeshifter in the father's form told him something that his real father would never tell him. The last we see of Jacob's father, Jacob tells him off and not caring what he thinks of him anymore. I have to say that it does feel saddening that father and son left things at that. Wonder if there will be another reunion of these Stones to resolve things between them once and for all.
Incidentally the similarly themed Warehouse 13 dealt with a similar lying premise in 5.2 Secret Services.
