Torchwood makes its debut on 11 on Monday May 27 8:30pm. It seems the scheduling of Torchwood to this slot was made at a late stage as the new version of Beauty and the Beast was originally scheduled for this time. Incidentally Beauty and the Beast got moved to 10 instead at an earlier date this Wednesday May 22 9:30pm. So basically Torchwood is filling in a slot on 11 that was originally intended for a show that suddenly got a promotion to the main 10 channel.

It looks like Eleven will end its Torchwood run with Children of Earth, the final episode Day 5 being scheduled on July 21 8:30pm as it does not look like it has the rights to Miracle Day. Torchwood will instead be replaced in its slot from July 28 by new supernatural series Witches of East End.

Eleven will indeed be showing Miracle Day but its first night there on Monday July 28 has Torchwood shifted to the 9:30pm slot. Miracle Day was previously shown on Australian TV on UKTV when it was fasttracked from the UK in 2011. Miracle Day’s broadcast on Eleven will mark the first time that it is on Australian free to air TV.

Eleven has delayed the debut of Torchwood: Miracle Day by a week to August 4 9:30pm.
TV Tonight’s David Knox is presuming that the delay of Torchwood: Miracle Day along with the debut of Witches of East End in order not to cannibalise the MasterChef grand final on 10.
